Different brands and formulas of facial fillers actually do different things, and last different lengths of time. While many facial fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, the particle size of each individual filler formula can be different.

So, fillers like Restylane Lyft – which have a larger particle size – are better to restore volume to larger areas, such as hollow cheeks. However, fillers like Restylane Silk – having a smaller particle size – are better for filling delicate areas like lips and fine lines.

Anyone who is considering facial fillers needs to understand that they should only have them injected by a licensed and experienced medical professional.

Even more importantly, facial fillers that are injected by an inexperienced or non-medical providers can result in poor results, infection, nerve damage, facial paralysis, and much worse.

Don’t forget that facial injections, while cosmetic, are still a medical procedure. You would never go to a house, a party, the mall or a beauty salon for a medical procedure. So do not go to them for any type of dermal injections!

Also, keep in mind that facial fillers should not be administered in the week or two before any dental procedures – including teeth cleaning. Dental work can put pressure on the face that can displace or move fillers before they are completely “set”.
